Rancho Llano Seco

“Rancho Llano Seco was incorporated in 1861 and has a rich history of balancing agriculture, livestock husbandry and conservation. The Rancho is one of the last Mexican land grant properties that remains intact. It is a reminder of a lost era when Californian, American, Mexican, and Spanish history intersected. Llano Seco means dry plain in Spanish, and comes from the dry land wheat fields that have been an historical source of pride for the Rancho's farmers since its inception.

Our pigs are a cross of Duroc, Yorkshire, and Landrace breeds. Our hogs are fed GMO-free, vegetarian grains, 80% of which are grown on the Rancho. Pigs are raised in deep-bedded hoop barns with continual access to large open air pastures with plenty of sunshine and a great view of the California Buttes. Our pigs are never fed antibiotics or growth hormones, and are never confined. Llano Seco Meats is the culmination of our mission to provide a variety of products while caring for the people, the animals and the land." (from Llano Seco Facebook page)

Sierra Nevada Cheese Company

Sierra Nevada Cheese Company was founded in 1997 by Ben Gregersen and John Dundon. Ben and John began to introduce their cheeses at local farmers markets; soon after demand for the products increased and their cheeses were sought out by local retail stores. In 2003, the company's successful growth allowed them to relocate the creamery 100 miles north of Sacramento to Willows, California, where they are still located today. Sierra Nevada Cheese Company strives to create the best-tasting dairy products by keeping true to our own philosophy - a clean ingredient list coupled with traditional manufacturing methods. In an age of industrialized manufacturing, Sierra Nevada's pure ingredients and simple processing provide the wholesome goodness of authentic, farmhouse-style dairy foods.
